Deep show today guys. (If I ever post too much just let me know, hehe) And as usual I had a lot of thoughts about it. Not really going to lay them all out here, just going to say a couple of things.

For some reason I kept comparing the struggles of the gay community to the struggles of the African-American community while listening to you all. I have no idea if they are comparable, but listening to the back and forth reminded me of it.

My great grandmother used to tell me stories of some blacks who had the same thoughts as Jeff and some who had the opposite beliefs. Some who didn't want to make "massa upset". Others who wanted to fight for their rights and to be seen as whole people. There were others who wanted to use quieter methods. I'm not saying this is the same. I have no right to say that. I'm just saying it reminded me of it.

In the end, African-Americans chose to fight (for the most part). It took a long time though. Overall, hundreds of years. Sure, it ramped up more in the 50s-70s but rebellion was happening since slavery. Do gays have as long of a way to go? Are they slaves in other ways besides physical? Will rocking the boat lose the battle but win the war? I really don't know. And everybody won't be all in and everybody will have differing opinions. Everybody chooses what makes sense for them I suppose.

Am I wrong for comparing the two struggles? Is it the same to you all? I know you talked about this on previous shows already. So no need to really go over again.

    Griff,

I used to work in an office environment. I am an openly gay male. I had a picture of my partner at the time and myself on my desk. One day I was asked to remove it because it offended some people or so I was told. I told them only on the condition that everyone else removes the pictures of their loved ones. After all, fair is fair. I was fired. I do not live in a right to work state. The union would not support me. Your idea for a "silent movement" for lack of a better term is just that. Your idea and I respect that. However it won't always work. Nothing ever does. I was a good worker. I busted my ass everyday and was respected by colleagues or so I thought. Now tell me. What should I do? I have already talked to the labor board and was denied a hearing.
